Psalm 27:1 David seems to know exactly where his strength lay. Despite his victories, despite his accomplishments, despite his meteoric rise to fame, he saw all this as useless when faced with enemies attacking and armies besieging. What good are your talents when your very life is threatened with extinction? What about us? What are our skills and abilities worth when life gets tough? At times like these, the quiet confidence of Psalms 27 become our daily regimen. Trust in Him(Psalms 27:1-3) Worship Him(Psalms 27:4-6) Ask Him(Psalms 27:7-12) Hope in Him(Psalms 27:13-14) V. 14 says"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." The root word translated "wait" here is qavah, and it can mean "to bind together, perhaps by twisting." Inextricably bound to God, our spirit "twisted together" with His. That's real strength!
