Worship DefinedWorship:What It Is Not- It is not performance, certain styles of music or mood. The message, not the medium, is sacred. -It is not music. Music is not always worship, but to the Lord, true worship will always be music to his ears! -It is not passive, but rather participative. Observers don't worship. -It is not praise. Praise is what we do because of who God is. His creation praises him for who He is, but they don't have a relationship with Him; it is our response to His presence. What It Is-To reverence, honor, love and admire excessively. Jesus said, "Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength". Matt 22:37.-An active response to God whereby we declare His words. -Lifestyle! "...present yourself as a sacrifice which is your reasonable act of worship". Rom 12:1 -Impressing God with a broken spirit and a contrite heart. Throughout scripture, those who humbled themselves always got God's attention. -An attitude of the heart that reflects the glory of the Lord. Our goal in worship should not be that the people notice what we do, but rather be caught up with the Creator. David Ritter Meditation and ReflectionSunday Line Up
