WHAT BUGS/BLESSES YOU?
Everyone in the world, including people in the congregation of our Saline church, have things that are annoying or get under their skin from time to time, me included.  It doesn’t matter how nice, how tolerant, or even how Christian you are.  From the sweetest grandma to the easiest going “B-type” personality the world has some head scratching moments that defy understanding.  Thank God though, that there are also great and precious blessings, breathtaking gifts from on high, special touches from the Master’s hand that encourage us to keep on keeping on.
Let me give you some of each of the one’s I’ve observed and then ask you for yours – First a bug, then a blessing: BUG – It bugs me when coverage of a sports event on TV has the camera shot so far back you can’t tell who the players are or even read their numbers.  I don’t need to see the whole field, just where the action is.
BLESSING – I am blessed to have such a wonderful wife who partners with me in ministry, and to have two kids who have never complained when the ministry takes up so much of our lives.
BUG – It bugs me when people say “I could care less” when trying to describe their lack of caring about something.  The correct phrase is actually “I couldn’t care less.”
BLESSING – I am hugely blessed by the privilege I have of talking with God in prayer any time, any place (and I’ve prayed for people in some pretty unusual locations) and knowing that He not only hears me, but He cares about me too.
BUG – Election campaign ads and electronic campaign telephone calls…does anyone actually listen to these?
BLESSING – I can’t tell you how much it blesses me when someone from Saline First Assembly of God says they prayed for me!  I know that to do so, they had to put their own problems, concerns, and prayer requests on hold to pray for me and mine.  Thank you everyone who has ever done that for me!
BUG -- $3 double cheese burgers at Burger King when they only cost $1 at McDonald’s.  Same size.
BLESSING – Freedom…to speak, worship, associate, travel as I choose, and to work when, where, and for whom I want.  Thank you all U.S. military personnel (past and present) for helping me keep these God-given freedoms.
BUG – I understand that there is a popular piece of women’s clothing today sort of like a tank top t-shirt.  It’s not the clothing I mind, it’s what they call it – a “Wife beater –T.”  I’m speechless.
BLESSING – Eyeglasses, without which I would be nearly completely handicapped.  How did people get by in biblical times?
BUG – The increasing number of marriage failures among ministers.  What, aren’t they paying any attention to their own sermons?  They preach it but don’t expect them to practice it I guess!?  It bugs me.
BLESSING – Willing-hearted volunteers who see the need and respond positively when asked…and an even bigger blessing to me are volunteers who don’t wait to be asked but who come to you and say they’re available if needed.
BUG – It bugs me when people are asked to guess (a price, a weight, a date, etc.) but who say they can’t because they just don’t know – exactly, that’s why it’s called “a guess.”
Finally, let me say that it blesses me when people read this blog, and even more so when they post a comment.  Go ahead, give it a try – post what bugs or blesses you…I know you have some of each!

Love, Pastor Bomey

I could probably go on for days, so instead I'll just choose one of each.
Bugs - The biggest thing that bugs me in life that FAR outweighs everything else? People that change lanes, make turns, enter a roadway etc. without using their turn signal!
Blesses - My family (specifically my wife Stacy) and my friends are the biggest blessing I have. A close second would be my students!

I believe that we have a great man of God to lead the congregation of SAG
Bugs: It bugs me that not enough people attend services especially Sunday nights. We have a great word and worship and a great prayer time. If you want to get close to God be there.Train up a child in the way he should go. I think to many parents have their kids in to many extracurricular actives and sports that the kids miss out on Gods word and training that will last a lifetime. We and our children nee to be at church every time the doors open. I want my children to be spiritually equipped to handle the world out there. Be Faithful!!
Bless: I thank God that we have Pastor Bomey Pastor Mike and Pastor Sherry who study hard and give their messages based on their time with God. I appreciate their attitude whether the is a hundred or 4 in the congregation. May God bless you for all your time and efforts

It bugs me when my golf ball is lying in the fairway and I hit a beautiful shot straight toward the green -- only to have the ball strike a tree branch that is obnoxiously hanging over the fairway and subsequently fall into a creek. --Nate

Well we all have our favorites....
Bugs - People that do not do what they promise to do. For example, those that say they'll call you and then don't, they volunteer and never show up, etc.
Blesses - People that do for or spend time with my kids when there is no reason for them to do so.
Bugs - People that change "their story" to make themselves look good.
Blesses - People who leave a tip, no matter how small, when the economy is so bad.......there really is no one/nothing requiring them to do so.

Ok enough from me........I think I could go on and on as P. Mike said! :)

Bug: It bugs me that no matter how many times I tell my husband to put his stuff in its correct spot, He always manages to leave it laying around for me to pick up and put away.
Blessing: I am blessed to have such a wonderful husband who loves me no matter how anal I am about my home, our kids, or the way I look after a long day of taking care of crying babies and cleaning house, and no matter what he always makes me feel loved and beautiful.

Bug: It bugs me when college professors try to take up the whole class time when it is obvious that they have run out of things to talk about.

Blessing: It blesses me when people are willing to let me test games on them before I do them at work.

Bug: It bugs me when teachers tell me they don't think I should give out rewards for students who do hard work. Especially when they forget that they might get thier own reward if they work hard, its called a pay check.

Blessing: It blesses me when the music teacher at work reminds me that I can hand my frustration to God when I get frustrated.

Bugs: Christian friends who pass on totally false emails without checking their validity. Bugs: People who are ALWAYS right, even when they are wrong. Blessings: People who act the same on Mon-Sat as they do on Sunday.
