More Bugs and Blessings

Some time ago in this blog I wrote of several things that bug me to no end, and then "countered" that each time with several things that blessed me too. For some reason I feel a stirring in my soul for another round of the same.  Of course, if you have any of these you're welcome to submit your own.  Just be sure that you have at least one of both kinds (a bug and a blessing)!  Have fun.  Here are mine:

BUG:  Potholes bug me.

BLESSING:   Thank God for willing hearted volunteers who don't have to be cajoled, or coerced, or promised anything in order to get them to do something for the Lord.

BUG:  Negative people.

BLESSING:   Positive people, but ones who still keep it real.

BUG:  It bugs me when people who are gifted don't use their gifts whether they are spiritual gifts or just some natural talent or ability.  I sit around wishing / begging to have such gifts, so when those that have them let them sit fallow it's hard to understand.

BLESSING:   Hard working, sacrificial, faithful people.

BUG:  Growing older and all of the associated aches and pains that go with it.  In my opinion there's no such thing as aging gracefully.  Remember, disease, deterioration, and death are all the consequence of the fall of man away from obedience to Almighty God and into sin.  God never meant for it to be this way (reference the Garden of Eden).  BTW, I turned 54 y/o a few days ago; could you tell?

BLESSING:   When people take time out of their busy schedule and away from all their own wants and needs and problems to pray for me and mine!

BUG:  When uninformed people nevertheless make decisions or come to conclusions with only partial truth behind them.

BLESSINGS: Beautiful autumn colors...they are God's artwork hung in the world's gallery.

BUG:  When Christians who should know better allow almost anything else to get in the way of their attendance in church where they should be taking reverent time to be meeting with their very Maker and the Savior of their soul.  When the end comes, I hope He isn't too busy to pay attention to their need to get in the gates of Heaven.

BLESSING:   The Word of God, praise and worship music, and people who demonstrate great love and great faith.

Well, there you have it for this time.  What bugs and blesses you?  Post some so we can all think about yours too.

Love,
Pastor Bomey

BUG: Being obligated to hug or shake hands during church. Maybe the Catholic church has it right on this issue in that they are now being encouraged to nod or bum shoulders (whatever that is)all in an effort to not share germs.

BLESSED: Someone touching my arm, looking me in the eye and really caring how I am.

BUG: Customers that think they are the only ones on the earth and start to order/talk/ask for things when I am obviously waiting on someone else.

BLESSED: Those that still leave a tip even though unemployment is around 14 Percent in Jackson County.

BUG: People who grump at me because they are having an issue with something or someone else in their life.

BLESSED: The beauty of the fall leaves, the warmth of the sun, and the knowledge that God is in control.
