Pastor Bomey will be writing semi-regular blog posts here as he shares his thoughts with us regarding a variety of topics.
Want to stay up-to-date with Pastor's blog without having to check back often? We provide a full RSS feed via the sidebar on the right side of the page. RSS is a protocol to allow readers such as yourself to easily receive notification when a site or blog posts updated content. A normal RSS feed is used by a program or service (called an "aggregator") to deliver notifications to the reader. One popular web-based aggregator is Google Reader . However, if you'd simply like to receive emails when this blog is updated, a service called FeedBurner will let you do just that. Type your email address in the box to the right, click "Subscribe", and Feed Burner will do all the work for you!
Merry
Christmas everyone!Psalm 8: 3-4 says, "When I consider the heavens,
the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of Him, the son of man that you care for Him?"
Some time ago in this blog I wrote of
several things that bug me to no end, and then "countered" that each time with
several things that blessed me too. For some reason I feel a stirring in my
soul for another round of the same.Of
course, if you have any of these you're welcome to submit your own.Just be sure that you have at least one of
both kinds (a bug and a blessing)!Have fun. Here are mine:
I recently had the opportunity
to realize a dream of mine.Since I was
young enough to make the sound "vroom vroom" I wanted to ride a
motorcycle.This past week, my brother
took an extended trip out of state to visit some of our family across country
and left his motorcycle at my parent's house for me to ride.I did.My dad and I went out on 4 different days to ride.Thank God for holiday weekends! We logged on average around 90 miles per day.Best weekend of my life!
Only one other time in our
history have the economic times been as tough as they are now. That was during the Great Depression of the
20's and 30's.Today, not a day seems to
go by without hearing about family, friends, and neighbors who have had to
"bite the bullet" in some way or other, either to make ends meet or involuntarily
imposed upon them by their employer.
In a few days I plan to preach a message on the incomparable
subject of God's grace (unmerited favor; unearned blessing; mercy/love).In researching for that sermon I came across
some excellent information on the subject in a Bible study book written by Nancy
Leigh Demoss and Tim Grissom called Seeking Him.
